HEY KIDZ! TK UPDATE!

oops! forgot we had a blog.
SOZ!
the last few months have been BUSY!! we've played shows wiv Male Bongingz, Fair OHs, Human Races,+ a whole host of dudes at Milk/These People r squares alt-reading fest - we had FUN, i wore a dress! we had to cancel a few shows cus we broke our djembe and i almost lost my violin but we're back on track now! sorry if anyone cared. We've also been in and out of the STUDIO mixin our ALBUM which really is happening and gonna come out early next year. 20 tracks in the can. whooop!

OH AND we played a show with the wonderful Gentle Friendly + NO AGE at scala put on by UTR (aka our new family!!)

IN THE BEGINNING THERE WAS TRASH KIT

ANDREW MILK just posted this video from our FIRST EVER SHOW!! it's from Friday 13th February 2009 - when we were only 2 and ROS was not in the band (she is in the audience looking happy and drunk) we are forever indebted to MILK for putting us on cus if we hadn't have had so much fun that night we probably would not have bothered learning to play or writing any more songs.
so yeah, BIG LOVE TO MILK.
we are also going on a mini tour of the north and a bit of the south with Andrew's band BLOODY KNEES in August, more info about that soon though.

so this post promises some genuine and news worthy info rather than the usual u-tube time wasting:
FIRSTLY, if we haven't already boasted to you about this we are recording an ALBUM!!! we've been practising lots and writing new songs gettin ready to record something hopefully relatively HI-FI to be released on Upset!TheRhythm this winter!! wooooooop. We have been UTR fans since WAY before we started this band and they are the nicest people ever so we're dead chuffed!
IN THE MEANTIME:

If you wanna see us play in the next few months you really have no excuse! We had a bit of a break but now we're back to bussiness and playing a LOT in london and also a bit outside of the big smoke! WE did what we thought was a really mediocre gig at 93 ft east last friday but according to the singer/guitarist from the DUDE band of South Africans that is BLACK MAMBA BEAT it wasn't so bad!

"SHORT SONGS FILLED WITH HINTS OF BEAUTIFUL HARMONIES AND RHYTHMS, THE DRUM BEATS ARE SOOO AWESOME THIS IS MAINLEY DUE TO A SLIGHTLY LEFT OF CENTRE SET UP INVIOLVING A DJEMBE DRUM THAT SPRINKLES ORDINARY BEATS WITH A BIT OF AFRICA (RIGHT UP MY STREET), APPRANTLY WHEN THEY PLAYED RYAN'S BAR THEY WERE BASSLESS NOW WITH A BASS IT JUST SEEMS TO SLINK AND SLIDE THROUGH THE DJEMBE GROOVES LIKE A SNAKE ON FRESH CUT GRASS.
*OK SORRY WENT A BIT WANKEY, POUNCEY METAPHORIC THERE *

I GUESS THE MAIN THING THAT STRUCK ME ABOUT IT WAS THE PURE INNOCENCE OF IT, IT’S A REALLY BIG THING IN MUSIC THESE DAYS TO SAY HOW YOU DIDN’T MEAN TO MAKE MUSIC, WRITE MUSIC BE IN A BAND, THE ACCIDENTAL BAND OR SOME CRAP, BUT YOU GENUINLY GET THE FEELING THAT THESE TRASH KITTERS JUST ENJOY WRITING SONGS AND PERFORMING, I ESPECIALLY LIKED THE SHOUT OUT TO THE PHILIPINO’S I THINK IT WAS MID WAY THROUGH THE SET."

QUITE LITERALLY, during our set at Yes Way on sunday the guitar amp CAUGHT FIRE (no actual flames but a considerable amount of electrical smoke)  D R A M A!    

Despite this we had some  s e r i o u s  fun. 

I felt like my 6-year-old self at DisneyWorld: "but mum why do we have to leave? i want to LIVE here!" There are rumours of a follow up UTR festival in the future & we sure as hell hope they're true! 

ALSO our CD-R mysteriously SOLD OUT! (i didn't make that many, this is not as impressive as it sounds) But if u didn't get one i'll be making more, and if you want one THAT BAD u can message us your address and we'll send u one in the post for FREE.
